This month’s paint-out takes place on a spectacular 300-acre farm in Mebane. The farm was established in 1798 and is listed on the National Historic Register. It is the original site for Cates Pickles where pickles were packed in barrels, loaded onto wagons and hauled to the train station to be sent out on steam locomotives. Although Cates Pickles is no longer located on this site, one of the original buildings still stands.

This sprawling, gorgeous land is dotted with wonderful barns, including a horse barn, a milking barn, silos, and a corn crib which has been converted into a guest house. An assortment of out-buildings surround a stately renovated 18th century home. The property includes a stream, ponds and huge blooming magnolia trees. Eighteen head of Black Angus and Holstein cows, 17 calves, chickens and a goat all grace this magnificent setting. We will drive you all around the property to give you the opportunity to pick your painting spot.

Registration fee is $15.00 per person.
Water, assorted drinks and snacks will be available throughout the day Saturday and Sunday. Lunch will be provided on Saturday only.

Payment must be received by August 21st, at which time we will send you a detailed map to the site.

Due to the unique nature of our paint outs it is not possible to refund registration fees or apply them to a future event unless the event has been cancelled by Outdoor Painter.
